
Chris Swain

Chris Swain is a product designer, entrepreneur and educator. At USC, he co-founded and directed the Electronic Arts Game Innovation Lab, through which he developed research methodology to solve UX and game mechanic problems. To complete the project, he received funding from the National Science Foundation, the Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Annenberg Foundation, ABC News, LA Times and others. Swain’s thesis students have gone on to win multiple Game of the Year Awards in their industries.
Prior to USC, Swain was a founding member of R/GA, a full-service digital agency based in New York. There, he directed product engagements with dozens of clients including Microsoft, Disney, Intel, IBM and Sony. His projects won dozens of awards for design and creativity. During Swain’s time at R/GA, the company grew from 4 people to over 200 and from no revenue to over $50 million annually. The company is now a leading global agency.
As an entrepreneur, Swain has raised venture capital for two companies: Swain Corp. and Talkie. He has also developed products in partnership with MTV, NBC, Conservation International and many others.
